What you need to know

As humans, managing our health is pretty straightforward. When we’re feeling sick or have been injured, we simply go to the doctor and receive the appropriate treatment.

When a furry family member becomes sick or has been injured in some way, however, it’s not always as simple to determine exactly what’s wrong. Furthermore, because our pets can’t speak, they can’t tell us what’s bothering them, explain their symptoms or point to where it hurts. It’s up to us, as caring pet parents and veterinary professionals, to recognize the signs of a potential problem and take the appropriate measures to address that problem in the most effective way possible.

Veterinary diagnostics help us to accomplish this goal by allowing us to examine your pet from the inside. That way we can quickly and accurately diagnose and treat health problems in the most efficient and effective manner possible to achieve a positive outcome. Mission Veterinary Hospital utilizes a broad spectrum of diagnostic tools to help us manage the ongoing health of our patients.

State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment

Our hospital is outfitted with state of the art diagnostic equipment, including cardiology, digital x-ray and ultrasound imaging capability. These tools allow us to evaluate your pet’s internal body function and identify any abnormalities that may need to be addressed. We also have our very own in-house laboratory where we are able to run a wide variety of tests, including blood work, urinalysis, parasite testing and much more.

The ability to conduct diagnostic testing in-house benefits you and your pet with more timely care. This is especially important for those illnesses and injuries for which a quick and accurate diagnosis and treatment plan is critical. In most cases, we are able to get the answers we need to manage your pet’s health while you are both still in the exam room.

Whatever may be ailing your animal friend, we’re fully prepared and well equipped to get to the bottom of the problem once and for all so that we can get your loved one back on the path to good health again as soon as possible.
